I joined GA as the Publicity Chair after being encouraged to by Michelle, who was the previous Pub Chair. She always spoke about enjoying being part of the community, and after following in her footsteps, I can say that I wholeheartedly agree. Asides from being able to discuss and learn more about Asian/Asian American issues, GA became an org where I felt comfortable being surrounded by people who understood what it meant to be A/AA. I hope that post-grad will be a time where I am able to dive into public health research or nonprofit work before heading back to school.
