Here at GenerAsians, we have a variety of E-board positions for people of all strengths and backgrounds!
Every semester, we open up applications to the whole campus for any available positions. There is no guarantee which positions will be available in a given semester due to returning E-board members. Each position may be shared by two people with a co- title.
Editor-in-Chief
Responsible for the overall magazine and supervision of staff. Leads weekly E-board meetings and may supervise writing/layout workshops. Coordinates with E-board members to organize GA events and magazine publication. Spearheads application process for new staff and E-board members. Fields outside questions/queries and serves as the spokesperson for the magazine.
Main Content Editor
Responsible for the editing team (content editors and staff writers) and magazine’s written content; ensures open communication among the team members; enforces deadlines and GA policies/standards. Leads all editing team meetings and training sessions. Assists Editor-in-Chief and Head Layout Editor with Final Review for each issue.
Assistant Main Content Editor
Supports Main Content Editor in editing written content of magazine. Assists Main Content Editor and Editor-in-Chief during Final Review.
Main Layout Editor
Responsible for the layout team and magazine’s overall design; ensures open communication among team members; enforces the layout deadline and the GenerAsians policies/standards. Leads all layout team meetings and training sessions. Assists Editor-in-Chief and Main Content Editor during Final Review.
Copy Editor
Responsible for soliciting outside submissions and designing polls. Makes grammatical edits during Final Review.
Online Editor
Maintains and publicizes GenerAsians’ website and social media. Manages GenerAsians’ online presence.
Treasurer
Handles financial transactions between GenerAsians and outside parties. Seeks funding from administrative and academic departments, student organizations and other organizations. Creates strategic marketing and business plans to financially support the publication. Responsible for SOFC and Profit accounts, including maintaining updated budgets.
Publicity Chair
Responsible for creating digital spam for all relevant GenerAsians’ events and projects. Circulates GenerAsians spam via email, WEngage, and other social media. Posts physical spam on campus.
Events Coordinator
Responsible for organizing and executing at least one lecture each semester. Organizes social events, which can be for the organization, the entire Wellesley community, and/or between GenerAsians and any other organization within or outside of Wellesley College. Books all space reservations. Provides food and refreshments for all relevant activities.

We solicit applications for open E-board positions in April and at the beginning of each semester (depending on how many positions remain unfilled) so keep an eye out for those application details and deadlines! No prior experience with GA or in journalism or magazines is necessary; we welcome everyone!
